Why wool?

It is a common notion that we think of woolen fabrics for our sweaters or jackets. But have you ever wondered on “Why wool always”.  Experience along with detailed research shows that wool is one of the most versatile materials, and its use is not only restricted to the winter months.  What’s more, woolen socks for men are an instant hit, and these are the ideal socks to be worn during the winter months.

If your are still not convinced, then consider the following reasons of adding more wool to your wardrobe.

  • Wool does not stink- No one is a fabric expert, but the fact of the matter is that wool does not stink and the pungent order of your shoes as well as socks is a thing of the past. You can wear the socks for a longer amount of time. For adventurous people who are more into hike or camp, they can get away with packing less and wearing more of the same pair of clothes.

    • Wool lasts for a longer period of time- When you buy wool, you are well aware of the fact that you are making a sound investment. They do not stink over a period of time and as they are strong materials.  The chances of it tearing it is also less.
    • Wool is known to warm and cool- Perhaps the most interesting aspect of wool is that it is known to keep you warm and cool at the same time. For winter layering, wool is a great product as it happens to be an insulating material. Since it is a high performance material, it keeps you warm and allows more air circulation, as well.
    • Wool is natural- Some of us even have conferred it the tag of being natural. Most of us are on the lookout for natural ingredients for food, but do we consider it while buying clothes. The answer is a definite no?  Wool is naturally cultivated from fair trade yarns.
    • Wool can easily be cared off- You do not have to do anything special while washing woolen clothes. Just pop it up in the washer with a tinge of detergent and the loader will take care of things. A point to be noted is that one has to read the care instructions which are mentioned at the back of each and every woolen item. The reason for it is that some woolen apparels need to be laid flat to dry.
To sum it up, one should spend more money on woolen dresses rather than any non performance clothing. Woolen socks will cost you around Rs.200 to Rs.700 on an average, but if you consider how many pairs you brought as well as replaced in the last two to three years, it will be bare minimum.
