Exploring the nature at Mcleodganj

In these summer holidays, kids were planning a trip to some hill station. When I was asked, Mcleodganj was the first name that came out of me. I heard some my office friend talking about the beauty of place to be scrumptious and breathtaking. I started planning of the trip doing all the arrangements and bookings for the family.

On the day of starting our journey, we took a bus to Dharamshala from Delhi in the evening. As it was night, I cannot say anything about the view but we reached Dharamshala at five in the morning. From there we took a taxi to Mcleodganj. Well, the roads were a bit bumpy but when you are in India, this is not a new thing. The sun was rising slowly by this time and the view along the road was really astonishing. After a fifteen minutes drive, we reached our hotel where we were given our rooms. The rooms were really gorgeous and the view from the balcony was icing on the cake. After we rested for some time and freshened up, we got ourselves out of the hotel and hit the roads.

The streets of Mcleodganj are very crowded filled with vehicles, stray cows and people, although kids were enjoying all of this. After a short walk, we found ourselves in front of the Tsunglakhang temple complex. This was the home and office of great Dalai Lama. It was a great chance to give the kids an insight about this great leader and the teachings of Buddhism. The Tibetan temple was another great thing to explore with children.

After the temple complex, we headed towards the Bhagsu nag temple, which is almost 2 K.M. far from Mcleodganj. We decided to walk to that distance enjoying the natural scenery on the way. I must say that it was bone shivering in Mcleodganj. Thanks to thee winter jackts for kids in India we bought, the kids were able to enjoy their trip to the fullest. After taking the blessings from the Bhagsu nag temple, we went to the Bhagsu nag water fall. We all wanted to go just below the water fall, but with kids it was dangerous and so we dropped the idea although the showers of tiny droplets were coming to us even from a distance. The view of the waterfall was really pleasing.

From there we decided to visit the tea gardens. After reaching the tea gardens, we were blown away with the beauty of the place. It was a clear example of what a great artist nature was. It seemed like even god went out of his imagination to create such an astonishing piece of art. Even the kids were speechless there just enjoying the view.

On the return to the hotel, kids and I did some shopping from the shops across the streets. The shops have many unique articles and stones, which one can take them back home as the souvenir from this out of this world place.
