The railway line from Kalka to Shimla is also very beautiful and a must visit for all tourists. It was in 1906 that the track came into function. It runs through beautiful landscapes on both sides and is often greeted by beautiful mountain streams. The engineering of this track is marvelous and you will be left with awe as you see it yourself. It would be a treat to make this journey through these tracks. You will be glad to know that seating arrangements in the train are very comfortable and spacious. This railway line has been added to the list of world heritage sites in 2008. 

Another excellent place that you may visit in this part of the country is the Christ Church. It is one of the oldest churches in India and the second oldest in North India. There have been a lot of changes made in the church, but the inherent authenticity of the church still remains intact. The sanctum offers a very calm and quiet ambience and would be perfect for you if you are looking for serenity. The church is full of historical and traditional significance and would be a perfect place for you to take your children to.
